  Great food. Lots of vegetarian options. The pianist is the icing on the cake. We have been here several times and never been disappointed.

  Extremely excited because of the risotto in a cheese wheel. It was a recommendation. Valet is available but the valet didn't open my door. Tip only.
  
  When I was seated, there is an areaware it is close to the windows. We get plenty of sunshine and it's gorgeous. Service is good and menu is pretty extensive. Our server was able to give us plenty of recommendations, but a couple fell short. All in all, they were able to accommodate and give us other options. We ordered the following:
  
  Crab cake
  Risotto in a cheese wheel
  Squash ravioli
  Lobster pasta
  Chicken pasta
  Seafood pasta
  Chocolate souffle
  
  The crab cake was a hit! I would definitely recommend anyone to get this. It's not your typical crab cake where it's pan fried and breaded, it's more of a deconstructed crab cake with plenty of lump crab and polenta! Beautifully constructed and very satisfying!
  
  Risotto is a must have!
  
  Squash ravioli was too sweet and the pasta was too Al dente.
  
  The lobster was a bit sour.
  
  The chicken was basic but good and simple.
  
  The seafood was flavorful, with a mussel aftertaste.
  
  Chocolate souffle is a bit boozy but not bad.
  
  Service and food was good. Some items are better than others!!

  Super disappointed on my last visit. Every year, Sorrento is on my top list to visit on the Houston Restaurant Week, but this year it didn't meet the standard at all.
  
  We arrived on Sunday around 12:00pm, the hosted was super nice, we were seated immediately, the service in Sorrento is always superb, at least attentive.
  
  We have a large party so we ordered everything on the Houston Restaurant Week brunch menu. The boss boy who brings the bread limit us how many bread we can have, and couldn't give us more.
  
  Appetizer is ok and it arrived pretty fast, main entrees are all very dry, taste very bland, especially the omelette, even the presentation is very poor. I don't even cook, but I feel like I can do better at home. Crab cake egg Benedict is super dry, crab cake has very little crab in it, the salmon used to be my favorite, presentation was good, so we were hoping it is tasty, but it is really NOT.
  
  Dessert is pretty good, but the overall experience was really disappointing. My friends said they will not come back next year. Hope they will be better next year.

  Nice decor, & our waiter provided prompt attentive service. Went here for restaurant week with 3 girl friends and the food was ok, but better can be found else where.
  
  The only alarming thing was that the seating seemed to be segregated. All the white people were seated inside, and all of the minorities were seated in the patio room. Perhaps they want to maintain a specific image but I'll spend my money elsewhere if that's the strategy they want to use.

  I'm long overdue on reviewing Sorrento. Sorrento is the most underrated fine dining establishment in Houston. I say underrated because I don't see it mentioned much in Top Restaurant lists and it absolutely should be. My husband and I have been here a dozen times in the last few years and it's actually where we had our first date. A great spot to take a first date! The vibe is so romantic, we absolutely love the piano music and the painted walls. Right now they have it decorated for Christmas and it is warm and intimate inside. The staff is always over the top polite and delivers good service every visit. Last night, my husband and I went to Sorrento without a reservation (something we'd never done before) because a new restaurant across the street let us down. They were packed, which we always love to see them doing well.. They deserve great business! They, of course, did not have a table available (it was 7:30 on a Saturday) but the whole bar was open and they offer full dinner service at the bar. Our favorite entree they no longer offer (a filet with lobster tail and a side of gnocchi) Some of my favorite apps include the carpaccio, the lobster bisque and the mushroom risotto (they make it in front of you in a big cheese wheel, fun to watch!) last night my husband had the veal ravioli and he loved it. I'm not a veal eater so I can't comment. I had the sea scallops with the crab risotto and I think I found my new favorite entree on the menu. It's the perfect balance of light & comfort food. We also ordered the half bottle of the Barolo wine and it was a great tasting wine. Cabernet lovers, try Barolo!
